How to create and submit a DeepMatching Campaign
A DeepMatching Campaign allows you to search for innovative companies with a focus on specific objectives or features, leveraging AI and expert validation for precise results. Follow these steps to create your campaign on the platform:
Step 1: Access the Campaigns Section
- Log in to the platform.
- In the left panel, go to Campaigns (second menu from the top).
- Click the + sign next to Campaigns or the orange + New Campaign button in the top right corner.

Step 2: Fill Out the Campaign Briefing
The Campaign Briefing tab is located on the right, where you need to enter key details to guide the AI and human experts. On the left there is a tab where you can chat with Scott to refine details of the campaign from initial stages or to polish the final stage.
You can collapse the Scott chat to hide it if you would rather write the briefing manually by clicking the blue divider.

Required Fields:
- Give a title to your campaign.
- Describe the type of company, product, or service you are looking for:
- This field should define precisely what you are looking for, including the subject matter, target industry, and relevant technologies.
- When entering into the campaign briefing, write full sentences describing your needs as if explaining them to a consultant.
- If looking for guidance you can prompt Scott as you would an LLM to build further details. It will ask questions and guide you to building a detailed briefing.
- Recommended (but not mandatory) details:
- Type of innovative solution/product needed
- Purpose of the search (e.g., market watch vs. problem solving)
- Preferred company size (e.g., funding stage, TRL, etc.)
- Technical features of the product/solution
- Excluded solutions
- Preferred/excluded geographical locations
- Other key information
- Example of concise briefing: I am looking for an autonomous vehicle solution for the industrial/manufacturing sector. The solution should be equipped with optical (e.g., LIDAR), GPS, and radar technology to navigate warehouse environments using a 5G network. It should integrate into our existing logistics software and improve operational efficiency.
- Example of a detailed briefing: I am looking for an autonomous vehicle solution for the industrial/manufacturing sector. The goal of this search is to explore potential partners for a corporate venturing initiative. The ideal company should be a startup with a maximum of 10 years in operation, preferably at the Seed stage or Series A, with a TRL of at least 6. The solution must be equipped with optical (e.g., LIDAR), GPS, and radar technology to navigate warehouse environments using a 5G network. It should integrate seamlessly into our existing logistics software and improve operational efficiency by reducing transit time by at least 20%. We are not interested in solutions that rely solely on human-operated navigation. Geographically, we prefer companies based in Europe and North America, excluding providers from China and India. Additional key considerations include compliance with EU safety regulations and scalability for global deployment.
- Details for Prompting Scott: When using Scott, if early stage, as shown in the images below, Scott will provide followup prompts to guide you into making the brief as specific (or not) as you intend. Once Scott finds sufficient detail it will offer to ‘Apply’ placing the suggested brief into the right hand side where you can manually edit.

Example: Scott Prompting
- Add Topics:
- Enter keywords related to your search, including product type (e.g., autonomous vehicles, radar technology, etc), service format (e.g., SaaS platform, mobile app, etc), and industry-specific terms.
- Each keyword should be composed of 1 or max 2 words.
- Click + Add AI Generated Topics to get AI-suggested keywords.
- Using Scott to Generate Topics:
- During your interaction with Scott it will automatically suggest relevant topics to add as you refine the brief.
- If you already have a content prepared, you can paste it into Scott and ask it to generate relevant topics for you to add to the brief.

Optional Fields:
- Add Similar Company URLs: Enter URLs of known companies/products to help the AI tool to refine results (these will be excluded from the final selection).
- Countries or Region: Specify a preferred location; leaving it blank includes worldwide results.
- Exclude Keywords: List terms to exclude from the search results generated by the AI.
- Extend to Patents & Scientific Literature: Tick this box to receive via email additional insights from scientific articles and patents linked to your briefing.
- Advanced Settings: Adjust the importance of different word clusters to refine AI recommendations.
Though optional these fields can help refine the key details of your brief leading to results which are closer to your desired outcome. If uncertain you can prompt Scott with your briefing where it will provide suggestions for each of the fields.

Step 3: Review and Publish Your Campaign
- Once you are satisfied with your briefing, choose from the following actions at the bottom:
